The arbitrator awarded significantly more than what was offered by lawyer for Unique Insurance.

Antoya Hendrix contacted us after being rear ended.  She was frustrated because the other person’s insurance company was not responding to her requests to fix her car.  We were quickly able to determine the reason:  the other person did not pay her insurance premium and the policy was canceled.  Our client had insurance and we pursued an uninsured motorist claim for her.  Unfortunately for Antoya, she purchased insurance through Insure One, an insurance broker specializing in issuing state minimum substandard insurance policies.  Rather than make an offer of settlement, our client’s uninsured motorist insurance company, Unique Insurance, fought us at every step.  Unique refused to make any offer of settlement until the day before the arbitration hearing, and even then, it was less than the medical bills incurred by Antoya.  We advised her to reject the offer and proceed to arbitration.  The next day, the arbitrator awarded significantly more than what was offered by lawyer for Unique Insurance.  If Antoya had not contacted us to represent her, she would never have made the recovery to which she was entitled.  Throughout the process, “the law office makes me feel comfortable.”  We are glad to have made a satisfactory recovery for our client in the face of an insurance company who was not prepared to make a settlement offer until the eve of trial.
